GE’s CSD100 point-on-wave controllers ensure power reliability for Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass LNG Project in Louisiana

Venture Global LNG, Inc., through its partner Baker Hughes, has started production at its new Calcasieu Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, USA. Upon completion, Calcasieu Pass LNG is expected to have an export capacity of up to 10 million metric tons of LNG per year.  

GE’s Grid Solutions Awarded Contract to Provide Communications Solutions to UK’s Northern Powergrid

GE’s Grid Solutions is proud to announce that we have been awarded a contract to provide UK’s Northern Powergrid (NPg) with communications solutions as part of a large digital transformation project. GE will provide MDS Orbit licensed 100MHz (12.5MHz) radio systems to upgrade NPg’s secondary SCADA system to an Internet Protocol (IP) communications platform across approximately 7,500 distribution substations.

Grids 220 Kv Gas-insulated Substation (GIS) energized at Taishet Aluminum Smelter in Siberia

April 12, 2021 - RUSSIA, Irkutsk Oblast, Taishet – GE’s Grid Solutions announced the successful completion of the installation, testing and energization of GE’s integrated grid equipment at the Taishet Aluminum Smelter in Siberia, Russia. RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminum producer, is now preparing the smelter for launch in Irkutsk Oblast in 2021.

GE’s Grid Solutions Awarded Grid Modernization Contract by Chesf in Brazil

GE Renewable Energy's Grid Solutions business was recently awarded its largest ever grid modernization services contract in Latin America by Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco (Chesf), one of Brazil’s largest electric utility companies. GE will retrofit six of Chesf substations located in the states of Alagoas, Bahia and Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil with its latest state-of-the-art grid technologies.
