(NYSE: GEV) today announced the signing of an agreement for establishing a joint venture (JV) with LS Electric to further strengthen its competitiveness in the Voltage-Sourced Converter (VSC)-HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) business, a core component of Korea’s next-generation power grid.

SILVES, Brasil — [19 de agosto de 2026] — A Eneva, maior operadora privada de gás natural do país, e a GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) celebraram o início da operação comercial da usina termelétrica Azulão I, localizada em Silves, a aproximadamente 330 quilômetros de Manaus. Com compromisso de fornecimento de 295 MW ao Sistema Interligado Nacional (SIN), a nova usina contribuirá para aumentar a estabilidade, a confiabilidade e a segurança do suprimento elétrico no Brasil. Essa conquista marca a conclusão da primeira fase do Complexo Azulão, da Eneva, composto pelas usinas Azulão I e Azulão II.

No coração da usina Azulão I está a turbina a gás de alto desempenho 7HA.02 da GE Vernova, acoplada a um gerador H65. A expectativa é de que a avançada turbina forneça a capacidade de resposta rápida à demanda necessária para equilibrar a rede e apoiar o crescimento de energias renováveis não despacháveis, como a eólica e a solar, em todo o Brasil.

O sucesso do projeto se baseia no modelo pioneiro "Reservoir-to-Wire" (R2W) da Eneva, que aprimora a infraestrutura gerando eletricidade na fonte de produção de gás natural. Para integrar essa usina ao corredor de transmissão de alta tensão Tucuruí - Macapá -Manaus, um dos mais longos e desafiadores do mundo, com cerca de 1.850km de extensão, a Eneva e a GE Vernova implementaram uma solução de filtro de bloqueio de Ressonância Subsíncrona (SSR - Sub Synchronous Resonance) e um relé de estresse torsional. Esta solução foi projetada sob medida para ajudar a garantir que a usina opere com confiabilidade e em harmonia com o sistema de transmissão.

Além disso, utilizando sua ampla capacidade de atendimento local, o fornecimento da GE Vernova também contempla um contrato de serviço de 15 anos que visa ajudar a assegurar os mais altos níveis de confiabilidade e disponibilidade operacional.

De acordo com o Plano Decenal de Expansão de Energia (PDE 2035) do Brasil, elaborado pela Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE), espera-se que as fontes renováveis representem mais de 85% da geração de eletricidade do país até 2035, impulsionadas principalmente pela expansão da geração eólica e solar. Dada a intermitência inerente a essas fontes, as turbinas a gás são críticas para o balanceamento do sistema, fornecendo a energia despachável necessária para estabilizar a rede e ajudar a atender à demanda.

Eneva and GE Vernova launch operations at Azulão Power Plant to deploy firm power in complex transmission environments

  • This milestone marks the completion of the first phase of the construction of the Azulão gas power complex in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. 

SILVES, Brazil — [August 19th, 2026] — GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) and Eneva, the largest private natural gas operator in Brazil, celebrated the start of commercial operation of the Azulão I thermal power plant, located in Silves, approximately 330 kilometers (205 miles) from Manaus. Contracted to provide 295 megawatts (MW) of capacity to Brazil’s National Interconnected System (SIN) for 15 years, the new plant will contribute to enhancing the stability, reliability and security of the country’s electricity supply. The project is the first asset of Eneva’s Azulão Complex, which comprises the Azulão I and Azulão II power plants.

At the heart of the Azulão I facility is GE Vernova’s high-performance 7HA.02 gas turbine, paired with a H65 generator. The advanced turbine is expected to deliver the rapid load-following capabilities needed to balance the grid and support the growth of non-dispatchable renewables, like wind and solar, across Brazil. 

The project’s success is anchored by Eneva’s pioneering "Reservoir-to-Wire" (R2W) model, which improves infrastructure by generating electricity at the source of natural gas production. To integrate this plant into the Tucuruí-Macapá-Manaus one of the world’s longest and most challenging high-voltage transmission corridors spanning ~1,850 km (1,150 miles) — Eneva and GE Vernova implemented a custom-engineered Sub Synchronous Resonance (SSR) blocking filter paired with a torsional stress relay solution to help ensure the plant could operate reliably and in harmony with the surrounding transmission system.

Additionally, utilizing its extensive local service capabilities, GE Vernova secured a 15-year service agreement aiming to help ensure the highest levels of reliability and operational availability.

According to Brazil's Ten-Year Energy Expansion Plan (PDE 2035), developed by the Energy Research Company (EPE), renewables are expected to cover more than 85% of Brazil's electricity generation by 2035, particularly with the expansion of wind and solar generation. Given the inherent intermittency of these sources, gas turbines are critical for balancing the system, providing dispatchable power necessary to stabilize the grid and help meet demand.

BERLIN, Germany, (16 July 2026): GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) today announced it has been awarded two contracts by Stromnetz Berlin GmbH for the design, delivery and installation of two new high-voltage electrical substations in Wittenau and Neukölln. These grid nodes form part of Berlin’s high-voltage electricity network, helping supply power to several local substations that serve homes, businesses and public infrastructure across the city.

These 110 kV gas -insulated substations use GE Vernova’s SF₆-free g³ technology, an alternative to SF₆, which is a potent greenhouse gas widely used in high-voltage electrical equipment to provide insulation and help prevent electrical arcs. GE Vernova’s g³ technology provides the performance and compact footprint utilities need, while reducing the global warming potential of the insulating medium by about 99% compared with SF₆.

As electricity demand grows and cities electrify transport, heating, buildings and industry, grid infrastructure is becoming increasingly important to economic growth and quality of life. Compact, reliable and lower-carbon high-voltage substations are especially important in dense urban environments, where space is limited and network performance is critical.

NOVENTA DI PIAVE, Italy —June 30, 2026— GE Vernova today announced the completion of the modernization of its high-voltage research and development (R&D) laboratory at its Noventa di Piave site, near Venice, Italy. The lab tests equipment that helps electricity move safely from where it is produced to where it is needed. The project is part of a broader four-year investment of approximately $7.2 million to strengthen the site’s role in developing technologies for more reliable, flexible and resilient power grids.

As electricity demand grows and more renewable energy connects to the grid, utilities need modern equipment that can perform under more demanding conditions. The upgraded laboratory will help GE Vernova test critical equipment, including transformers and disconnectors, before it is deployed in electricity networks. 

“Reliable grids depend on technologies that have been tested, validated and proven for the most demanding operating conditions,” said Eric Chaussin, VP & CEO, Power Transmission, GE Vernova. “This investment in Noventa strengthens our ability to innovate in Italy, respond to customer needs more quickly and support the delivery of more resilient power systems for customers in Italy and around the world.”

The investment builds on GE Vernova’s continued investment across its Italian electrification footprint, including the recently announced expansion of its manufacturing capacity in Sesto San Giovanni, valued at more than $30 million.

The Noventa di Piave facility is part of GE Vernova’s Electrification segment. With more than 50 years of experience, the Noventa di Piave site has become an important part of GE Vernova’s industrial footprint in Italy. The facility currently employs more than 300 people and plans to add approximately 15 new hires annually over the coming years. The modernization project supports the site’s long-term growth, helps attract skilled talent and strengthens its contribution to the local economy.

GE Vernova’s facilities in Noventa di Piave and Sesto San Giovanni are important parts of the company’s industrial presence in Italy. Together, they bring manufacturing, research and testing capabilities that support Italy’s electricity infrastructure and serve customers in export markets around the world.

GE Vernova has supported Italy’s power sector for more than 100 years. Today, approximately 25% of Italy’s power capacity is enabled by GE Vernova technology.

The investment is part of our larger plans to invest $11B in capex and R&D from 2025 through 2028.

Hai Phong, Vietnam | March 10, 2026 – GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) today announced an investment of approximately $200 million to expand manufacturing capacity within its Electrification segment by establishing a new facility in Hai Phong, Vietnam. GE Vernova’s Electrification segment provides technologies that support power transmission, grid stability, and large-scale electrification programs worldwide.

This investment forms part of GE Vernova’s planned investments of $11 billion in capex and R&D from 2025 through 2028, including $1 billion for Prolec GE from 2026 to 2028. It follows GE Vernova completing the $5.3 billion acquisition of Prolec GE to increase transformer production in the North American market, more than $300 million in investments in grid facilities in the United States, and the expansion of its Stafford, UK site to strengthen HVDC and grid manufacturing capabilities in Europe.

The new facility will manufacture large power transformers mainly for High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects, complementing GE Vernova’s existing HVDC transformer manufacturing facilities in Stafford, UK, and India. These technologies are used to move electricity efficiently over long distances and ensure power networks can safely and reliably handle rising electricity demand.

The Hai Phong facility is planned to be developed in phases, with full operations expected in 2028, subject to regulatory approvals. Once operational, the site is expected to contribute towards GE Vernova’s broader transformer manufacturing capacity while primarily serving growing demand across Asia.

Electricity demand growth is particularly strong in fast-industrializing and urbanizing markets, where power infrastructure expansion and modernization are advancing at pace. Locating manufacturing capacity in this region will allow the company to improve delivery timelines, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support reliable project execution.

The project is expected to create approximately 450 jobs by 2030, with a significant number planned to be filled locally. In addition, GE Vernova plans to implement workforce training and knowledge-sharing programs in Vietnam, helping build local capabilities while connecting the Hai Phong site to its global Electrification manufacturing network.

GE Vernova’s equipment supports up to 30% of Vietnam’s electricity needs, reflecting the company’s long-standing presence in the country. Today, GE Vernova employs more than 1,100 people across nine locations in Vietnam, spanning multiple businesses. In addition to the new Hai Phong facility, GE Vernova operates the Phu My repair facility and the Dung Quat HRSG manufacturing plant, which are part of the company’s broader global repair and manufacturing network serving customers worldwide.

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI, Italy (March 3, 2026) - GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) today announced approximately $30 million investment in the expansion of its electrification manufacturing facility in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy, to support rising global demand for electrification infrastructure.

The initiative aims to increase production capacity for essential components used in power and generator transformers - bushings - which enable safe and efficient transmission and distribution of electricity. The expansion is expected to create approximately 50 new jobs in Lombardy region, primarily in manufacturing.

“With this investment, we are strengthening a strategic capability within our fastest-growing Electrification segment,” said Philippe Piron, CEO of GE Vernova's Electrification segment. “Sesto San Giovanni plays a central role in our global bushing manufacturing footprint. Expanding capacity here increases supply security for our customers and reinforces our ability to support large-scale power transmission and generation programs worldwide.”

As utilities and energy companies worldwide invest in grid upgrades and modernize power networks to meet rising electricity demand, the need for transformers and substations continues to grow, driving increased demand for bushings, which ensure this high‑voltage equipment operates reliably and safely. The project is expected to introduce additional production lines for advanced dry-type bushings, including Resin Impregnated Paper (RIP) and Resin Impregnated Synthetic (RIS) technologies, covering voltage levels up to 245 kV.

This expansion forms part of GE Vernova’s planned $11 billion investments in capital expenditures and R&D from 2025 through 2028. The announcement follows GE Vernova’s $5.3 billion acquisition of Prolec GE to increase transformer production in the North American market, more than $100 million investments in grid facilities in the United States, and the expansion of its Stafford, UK site to strengthen High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and grid manufacturing capabilities in Europe.

A century of Italian engineering and manufacturing excellence

For more than 100 years, GE Vernova’s Sesto San Giovanni facility has been recognized for engineering quality and manufacturing expertise in high-voltage bushings. The site hosts GE Vernova’s Bushing Center of Excellence and designs, manufactures, and services products used in large-scale power infrastructure projects worldwide, supporting some of the highest voltage applications in the industry.

GE Vernova is a key player in Italy’s energy transition having enabled power generation in Italy for more than 100 years. Currently, approximately 25% of Italy’s power capacity is being provided using GE Vernova technology.

DELHI, INDIA – (23 Dec 2025) – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) announced that its Electrification Systems business has been awarded a contract by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), India’s national transmission utility, to refurbish the Chandrapur back-to-back High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link—a key 1,000 MW interconnection between the country’s western and southern grid systems. This marks GE Vernova’s first HVDC refurbishment contract in India.

Modernizing a vital interconnection between West and South India

The 1,000 MW back-to-back HVDC link plays a pivotal role in balancing regional power flows between India’s western and southern regions. Originally commissioned in the late 1990s, the link enables bi-directional energy transfer between fossil-rich and hydro-rich zones—improving dispatch efficiency and conserving regional energy reserves.

Under the new contract, GE Vernova will upgrade both 500 MW converter stations at each end - Chandrapur (Western region) to Ramagundam (Southern region) - modernizing the HVDC control and protection systems and replacing the legacy converter valves with advanced technology manufactured at GE Vernova’s facilities in India.

“This landmark contract reinforces our long-standing relationship with POWERGRID and our commitment to India’s grid modernization,” said Johan Bindele, Leader of GE Vernova’s Grid Systems Integration business and teams. “Refurbishing this HVDC link with next-generation controls and digital capabilities will not only enhance its reliability but also strengthen India’s efforts toward a secure and sustainable power system.”

Extending grid life, improving stability

Refurbishment of HVDC systems involves upgrading essential components such as converter valves, automation systems, and grid protection infrastructure, all while ensuring minimal operational disruption. The modernization is expected to extend the asset’s lifespan, enhance energy efficiency, and improve grid flexibility to handle growing renewable penetration.

Investments in refurbishment offer utilities a cost-effective way to strengthen infrastructure resilience—preserving prior capital investments while aligning with today’s energy transition needs.

Supporting India’s energy goals

India’s ambitious goal to reach 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030 relies on robust, flexible transmission infrastructure. HVDC systems are essential to move large volumes of renewable power efficiently across long distances.

Refurbishing this strategic inter-regional corridor will help unlock that potential—enabling cleaner energy flows, improving system reliability, and contributing to India's long-term energy security.
