The STF-A650 steam turbine

High performance in a compact footprint.

  • The STF-A650 is a two-casing reheat steam turbine with a combined IP-LP section and a separate HP section.
  • Main steam inlet pressures up to 2,680 psi (185 bar) with main steam inlet and reheat temperatures up to 1,112°F (600°C).
  • Can be applied in both single-shaft and multi-shaft configurations, with the single-shaft configuration incorporating a clutch for enhanced operational flexibility.
  • Features fully assembled HP and IP/LP sections, enabling installation in as little as five months.
  • GE’s proven shrink ring design applied to the HP section reduces distortion, allowing critical clearances to be maintained and sustaining performance over the life of the machine.

The STF-D600 steam turbine

GE’s STF-D600 steam turbines primarily support H-class and F-class gas turbine combined-cycle plants.

  • The STF-D600 consists of a combined HP/IP section with either one or two dual flow LP sections.
  • Main steam inlet pressures up to 2,680 psi (185 bar) with main steam inlet and reheat temperatures up to 1,112°F (600°C).
  • Single bearing design reduces construction time, increases power density and enhances reliability by avoiding load shifts.
  • Available with side- or down-flow LP exhaust to provide plant layout flexibility.
  • HP/IP Section and valves are shipped fully assembled
  • Developed to deliver highly efficient power generation for single-shaft or multi-shaft plants and for sites with relatively low condenser pressure.
  • Self-synchronizing clutch reduces startup auxiliary steam demand, enabling industry-leading total plant startup times.
  • Side LP exhaust enables ground-level condenser connections and reduced plant height reducing overall plant cost.

STF-D650

GE’s STF-D650 combined-cycle steam turbine delivers the reliability and availability needed in today’s demanding energy environment.

  • The STF-D650 turbine consists of separate HP, IP, and a two flow LP Section.
  • Single bearing design reduces construction time, increases power density and enhances reliability by avoiding load shifts.
  • HP, IP, and valves are shipped fully assembled.
  • Self-synchronizing clutch reduces startup auxiliary steam demand, enabling the gas turbine to reach 85 percent load in less than 20 minutes under hot start conditions.
  • Available with side- or down-flow LP exhaust provides plant layout flexibility.
  • Side LP exhaust enables ground-level condenser connections and reduced plant height reducing overall plant cost.
  • The STF-D650 HP section uses GE’s proven shrink ring design reducing distortion, allowing critical clearances to be maintained and sustaining performance over the life of the machine.
