Overview

A more reliable flame detection upgrade for gas turbines

The robust dry flame scanner is a more reliable solution with high temperature fiber optics for precise flame signal transmission. Engineered to help maintain performance in high-temperature environments.

This solution is compatible with 7FA, 9FA, 9FB, 7E, 9E, 6B, and 6FA gas turbine frames, regardless of what controller type, compressor, combustor, or hot gas path your gas turbine uses. As a drop-in replacement for existing dry flame and water-cooled detectors, it reduces installation effort and requires no changes to your control software. The robust fiber-optic dry flame detector can also be trialed as a single detector in conjunction with existing scanners.

Why choose the robust fiber-optic dry flame detector?

  • Significantly improves flame detection reliability (false flame indications, flame out scenarios) and sensor durability in challenging environments (vibration, high temperature)
  • Direct replacement to existing dry or water-cooled flame scanners with no mechanical changes required
  • Fully optical in hot area, moving the transmitter to a colder area through a 30ft fiber optical cable
  • No control software modifications needed
  • No hot end electronics
  • NEC compliant, ATEX and IECEX certified
  • Approved for +10% H2 applications

Simple and fast installation

  • Can be installed during any planned outage, such as a combustion inspection (CI), hot gas path inspection (HGPI), or major inspection (MI)
  • Able to be completed over a single weekend
  • No pre-requisites required
